Every product has its own needs — and so does its packaging. From convenient 750ml packs for yogurts to 2-liter milk bottles and 1-liter cartons for long-life drinks, we tailor each design to match function and freshness. Working closely with our customers and suppliers, we continuously refine our packaging to enhance quality, efficiency, and sustainability.
At Fresh Dairies, we take pride in producing our lightweight 2-liter milk cans entirely in-house using premium polyethylene (PE). By manufacturing them on-site, we eliminate the need to transport empty containers — reducing unnecessary emissions and optimizing efficiency. This process also gives us full control over quality, hygiene, and sustainability.
Each container is carefully filled and sealed with a PE cap and fitted with either a stretch sleeve or a cold-washable label, ensuring full recyclability in line with KIDV standards. Looking ahead, our goal is to close the recycling loop by reusing PE recyclate in our new containers. While current food packaging laws don’t yet permit this, we are actively partnering with research and recycling organizations to make it a future reality through better waste separation, sorting, and cleaning systems.
For our range of fresh dairy and plant-based dairy alternatives, Fresh Dairies uses Elopak’s Pure-Pak® Sense beverage cartons — a responsible choice designed for sustainability and quality. These cartons are made from 75% paper sourced from FSC-certified forests, ensuring the wood fibers come from responsibly managed forestry. A thin layer of plastic is added inside and outside to make the packaging liquid-proof while maintaining recyclability.
Elopak prioritizes renewable raw materials that can naturally regenerate, such as plant-based resources. For the plastic components, bio-circular polymers made from organic waste are used, reducing reliance on fossil materials and lowering CO₂ emissions. Once recycled, the strong paper fibers are reused to create new products like cardboard boxes, paper bags, and hygiene paper, while the remaining polymers and aluminum are repurposed for transport pallets and other durable applications — closing the loop on sustainability.
For our long-life dairy and plant-based alternatives, Fresh Dairies relies on Tetra Pak®’s Tetra Brik® Aseptic Edge packs — a trusted and innovative solution known for its distinctive slanted shape and superior preservation. Each pack is made from about 70% cardboard sourced from FSC®-certified forests or other responsibly managed sources. To ensure durability and freshness, a thin polymer layer is applied to the inner and outer surfaces, while an aluminum barrier helps extend shelf life without the need for preservatives.
Our plant-based packaging version takes sustainability even further, consisting of over 75% renewable materials. The polymer used in these cartons is derived from sugarcane — a fully traceable, Bonsucro-certified source that ensures responsible production and minimal environmental impact. This results in a significantly reduced CO₂ footprint compared to standard packaging. During recycling, the paper fibers are repurposed into products like boxes and tissues, while the remaining polymer and aluminum (known as PolyAl) are transformed into durable items such as pallets, crates, and outdoor furniture — promoting a circular, waste-conscious future.
